Based on Néstor García Canclini’s arguments in Hybrid Cultures (1990) and "Recent News on Hybridization" (2000), and Juan Martín Prada’s postmodern appropriation (2001). This article deals with Álvaro Barrios’ (1979-1980) the work “Apolinére enameled (from)”, that involves versions of the ready-made Apolinére enameled by Marcel Duchamp (1917 – 1918). This work untangles certain binary concepts such as popular / cult and local / global, with joint integration processes of interrelation, pollution and cultural hybridization, to break concepts such as historical time, pure, authentic, identity, and original.
