Abstract

This review is a critical approach to the exhibition “Landscape / Territory. Imaginaries of the jungle in the visual arts (Ecuador: 1907-2019)”, which was exhibited at the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum (MAAC) and was curated by Ana Rosa Valdéz. Two of the features that stand out for consideration are: the unfortunate use of the exhibition space, in a curatorial exercise that aims to interpretation the invisibility of the Ecuadorian jungle, and the need to increase the undisciplined character that the proposals entail, for the sake of a situated and disruptive curatorship.

Amalina Bomnin Hernández, colaboradora

Amalina Bomnin Hernández (Cuba, 1971). Curadora, crítica de arte, investigadora. Licenciada en Historia del Arte, Universidad de La Habana, Cuba; MSc. en Planificación, Evaluación y Acreditación de la Educación Superior, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Estatal de Guayaquil, Ecuador, Doctoranda del Programa Ciencias sobre el Arte, Universidad de La Habana, Cuba. Se ha desempeñado como catedrática en: Instituto Tecnológico de Artes, Escuela Politécnica del Litoral, Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo, y actualmente en Universidad de las Artes.
