Focus and scope

The purpose of Índex, Revista de Arte Contemporáneo is to distribute investigative and critical processes focused on visual arts, with special emphasis on thought produced in Latin America. This publication is designed for an academic and artistic communities and for broader public interested in developing and exploring into the complexity of the field of art. Índex, Revista de Arte Contemporáneo will be published twice a year, and aspires to become a source in the field of arts at a local and regional level.

It is proposed that Índex, Revista de Arte Contemporáneo handles these themes: Research Based Artistic Creation, Art and education, Art History, Art Criticism, Publication Reviews, Artistic Reviews, Collecting and Art Market, Art and New Media, Aesthetic Thinking, Visual Studies, and Visual Essay.

Índex, Revista de Arte Contemporáneo, is a biannual publication (May / November) of the Carrera de Artes Visuales, in the Facultad de Arquitectura Diseño y Artes in the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
