As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • I have read the About the journal section and have reviewed its section policies, publication rules, editorial policies and its statement of ethical practices in research and publication.
  • The submission has not been previously published or reviewed by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Editor’s Comments).
  • The submission has been made through the journal's management system. In this system, the title in Spanish and English of the article has been entered in the respective fields. The summary (Spanish) and abstract (English) of the article have been entered in the respective fields. Keywords have been entered in both Spanish and English in the respective fields. The complete bibliography has been entered, checking that it is in accordance with the APA standards. Author information has been entered.
  • The article and the author's information have been separated into two documents, to maintain the confidentiality of the evaluation process.
  • The file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or.docx).

Publication norms:

  1. The writings must be original and unpublished, presented in their final wording. The proposed articles must not be nominated for other magazines at the time of submission to Índex, contemporary art. Articles should not be part of other research already published as a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. thesis.
  2. The submitted texts will have an extension of between 4 and 12 pages.
  3. The text should be written in Times New Roman font size 12, spacing 1.5 for the body of the work, citations and bibliography, and size 10 for footnotes.
  4. Citation and bibliographic references according to APA standards.
  5. The article must be structured and sent as follows:

  1. a) Title of the article in Spanish.
  2. b) Title of the article in English.
  3. c) Summary of the text in Spanish 150 words
  4. d) 5 to 10 keywords in Spanish
  5. e) Abstract in English, 150 words.
  6. f) 5 to 10 keywords in English
  7. g) Text of the article
  8. h) Bibliographic references

 

Other document containing author information:

 

  1. a) Name of the author.
  2. b) Biography of the author in maximum, 150 words. Include affiliation (belonging to an educational institution or independent researcher) ORCID code, academic title, training, outstanding works. Start format, eg: Marina Pérez. (Quito, Ecuador, 1980)
  3. In case of including images, their rights must be released by their respective authors and the corresponding credit must be included according to APA standards. The images must be inserted within the body of the text and referenced in it, otherwise they are considered unnecessary for the publication. Additionally, the images must be sent separately in high quality with a resolution of 300 dpi, this can be sent via wetransfer or dropbox to gmvargas@puce.edu.ec
  4. Articles will be received only through the magazine's Open Journal Systems platform, opening an account and filling out all the requested information. All the fields required in the metadata must be entered, these must coincide with those entered in the body of the article. If you do not fill in the necessary information in the metadata, the article will not be considered for review.
  5. All authors must agree with our editorial policies prior to sending their proposals, more information at: http://revistaindex.net/index.php/cav/about.
  6. Before sending the checklist (list of items) must be carefully read about the requirements of the call, accepting an item without validating the information is cause for rejection of the article.
  7. Failure to comply with any of these points is grounds for the return or direct rejection of the item.
