Abstract

Consumption and mass production constitute the central themes in Damián SinchiQ’s production, whose work on wood transforms the nature of everyday objects to question their usefulness in a hyper-industrialized panorama. Located on the borders of popular and contemporary art, he exercises an endemic trade, using practical languages to reveal the nature of artistic creation without excessive conceptual baggage. Through this brief review, we seek to make some notes on his work developed over fifteen years, from a factual and conceptual point of view, as well as from the practice of an ancient trade bequeathed by his family for more than three generations.
