The present issue of INDEX, contemporary art magazine, presents in its dossier 06, a broad vision on the processes of art and education. The methodological proposals are diverse and have come from different parts of the continent. Experiences with new technologies, methodologies with young people deprived of liberty or work done in museums are some of the reflections presented in this issue.
In our section themes of art, texts that address topics that are essential to understand the thought generated from the arts are presented. Artistic practices with new technologies, revisions to the practice of local artists or reflection of photographic practices are approached from critical thinking, art history or cultural studies.
In the Dialogues section, we present an interview with Celso Rojas, an Ecuadorian modern artist, whose work is done through introspection. The processes of modern art are essential to understand the complexity of contemporary practices, and to establish historical links that have been lost due to the different institutional crises that Ecuador has experienced in the last twenty years.
This issue opens the Curatorial section, which is open to the writing of curators, whose samples of art have been exhibited in this last semester 2018 in Ecuador. This section opens with this issue to all the collaborations coming from Latin America, seeking to consolidate the curatorial thought and the construction of archives that allow a better understanding of this practice in the continent.
