Geographies of mortality of Juliana Vidal

Abstract

Juliana Vidal’s Geographies of mortality is an artistic projectthat was shown in the “Museos de las Conceptas”, in Cuenca, Ecuador, place that was part of the XIV Biennial called “Estructuras Vivientes. El arte como expe-riencia plural” (2018-2019). The visit to this show makes clear three perspectives that focus on aspects of space, time, as well as new interpretations about the understanding of the idea of scarthematics. Vidal tries to understand the artist gesture about the ways how a theme becomes visible? On the other hand, the piece also question about other ways of presenting a visual narrative, the material resources used in the place, the frailty of memory, if it may be able to break into our perceptions.
