Abstract

This article analyzes artworks exhibited at the Biennale Sur 2019 at the Centro Cultural Paco Urondo in the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the UBA. To do so, we rely on the concept of “decolonial aesthetics” developed by Walter Mignolo. Such concept implies the recovery of specific aspects, that were put aside by the Western and Modern Art History, such as the sensorial, the corporeal, the rhythm, the mystical, the spiritual and the popular, that is all the feelings that go beyond “beauty”, talent, and the individual geniality. It is interesting to observe the variety of techniques and languages that appear in these artworks, and whose intentionally show colonial and capitalist domination.
